Product updates

Recent improvements to the platform, modules, remote support, and customer-facing operations.

Device Class Pulse

  • Device Class Pulse is available on paid plans. Dataplicity learns the normal operational fingerprint of each Device Class, then surfaces devices that drift — disk, packages, agent version, and more — with plain-language findings and charts.

Connectivity and SIM inventory

  • SIM cards are managed in one inventory. Sync Hologram or Jasper, or add SIMs manually, assign them to devices, and manage provider setup from Integrations (Business and above).
  • Chat integrations live under Integrations. Legacy Slack webhooks move into the shared hub alongside Teams; delivery outcomes show up in Logging under the Integrations source.

Developer platform

  • Hosted MCP is live at mcp.dataplicity.com. Connect Cursor (and other MCP clients) with an organisation API key; Gateway also expands fleet jobs, monitors, wormhole, and timeline coverage.
  • Gateway docs point at the canonical documentation site. The developers landing page is clearer, with OpenAPI still available for machines.

Support and AI

  • Paid plans can start Human Support from the assistant chooser. Prefer an AI assistant first, or go straight to the human team when you need one.
  • Paste screenshots and logs into AI chats more reliably. Suricata and other attachment-capable assistants accept real image and log pastes.

Device operations

  • Engineering device detail is built for observe-and-manage. Overview puts connection quality, wormhole, monitors, reachability, and disk-space history up front; Terminal stays the place to act.
  • Connection traces show live progress. Watch collection finish instead of refreshing to see whether a trace completed.

Status pages and ops suite

  • Public status pages show the customer-facing incident note. Internal create/publish/paging noise stays out of the public timeline.
  • Incidents, alerts, and on-call escalations are on Business plans (and above). The ops suite is out of beta.

Device Check

  • Device Check is free and public. Run one command on a Linux device (no account required) and stream health, network-path breaks, clock skew, and process offenders into a temporary shareable report.

Operations and file collection

  • File requests are available on Business plans and above. Create a request, share a link or curl command, and collect files from the field without a full device session.
  • Business plans can edit device tags from the remote device UI.

Incident response and on-call

  • Incidents are built for triage. Ownership, severity, and urgency are front and center so open incidents drive response.
  • Named escalation paths route on-call. Group schedules and notification channels, assign a path on an active incident, and see who’s on duty by path on summaries and dashboards.
  • Get emergency pages in the Dataplicity app. Critical alerts can reach you from monitoring rules you configure, or when someone raises an incident manually.

Remote access and monitoring

  • Web console supports multiple sessions. Keep several device consoles open in tabs and switch without losing state.
  • Monitor history is easier to scan. Endpoint, CORS, DNS, heartbeat, and fleet monitors show recent evaluation history inline; User Impact rows include short per-flow sparklines.
  • You can keep talking to AI while Human Support is pending. Continue with the assistant instead of waiting idle for a handoff.

Security and identity

  • Security detections are now available. Review findings, accept risk when appropriate, and restore items later from an Accepted risks view.
  • Risky logins appear as a dedicated tab. Unusual sign-in activity is easier to scan without cluttering higher-severity findings.
  • SCIM-managed groups stay read-only. When SCIM is enabled, group membership cannot be changed in the UI or via the API—identity stays with your provider.

Monitoring, alerts, and dashboards

  • Alert rules compose monitors with rule-owned timing. Combine conditions and fire only after a sustained match, with clearer Down and Degraded wording.
  • Device monitors now use priority (P0–P2). Set how critical a monitor is when it fires so important checks stand out from lower-impact ones.
  • Active-list dashboard widgets are available. Pin live alerts, fleet jobs, incidents, and scheduled tasks to ops and TV boards without mixing in resolved or idle items.
  • Fleet Map is available as a dashboard widget. Pin device geography to an ops board with tag filters alongside the rest of your fleet view.
  • Incident Management and status-page publishing are unified. Publish or unpublish on-call incidents from the incident workflow; public status pages reflect those incidents.
  • Paid plans include bundled monitors, scheduled tasks, and status pages. Standard and Business start with included ops allowances instead of metering from zero.

AI, CLI, and fleet operations

  • Pingüino can create confirmed fleet jobs. Jobs run with progressive per-device results posted back into the conversation.
  • AI fleet command review is clearer. A stepped review flow, privilege context, and tabulated results make it easier to approve and follow execution.
  • Free Plan chats go to Capibara. Free workspaces get a bounded AI guide instead of paid-plan specialists.
  • Web CLI is safer and more guided. Org, device, and session context stay visible, with curated read-only device recipes for common tasks.

Logs and fleet visibility

  • Log search is easier to learn and faster to use. Filter help and autocomplete make common queries less guesswork during investigations.
  • Log chips support dig-in actions. Jump from a device or monitor chip straight to terminal, device detail, or related monitor lists.
  • Location tags are back on device lists. Filter and scan by location in day-to-day fleet views.

Single-device connectivity monitoring

  • Monitor the connectivity of individual devices. Create focused alerts for critical devices that remain offline, without the noise of fleet-wide monitoring.

Security, operations, and remote access

  • Security Activity is now available as a dedicated audit view. Review sign-ins, access changes, remote sessions, and fleet events in one place.
  • Log management is clearer and historical browsing is more reliable. Configure sources separately from viewing logs, with smoother loading for long history.
  • Use Dataplicity CLI workflows directly in the app. The browser CLI brings familiar command-line tasks into your workspace.
  • Terminal filtering is easier on large fleets. Tag filters and fleet counts make it simpler to narrow down the devices you need.
  • Fleet jobs are easier to follow. Status summaries and per-target run logs make execution outcomes clearer.
  • Device class management has expanded. Device class detail pages now provide richer operational context.

AI, billing, and account administration

  • AI assistants are easier to reach and more capable. Pingüino, Búho, and Capibara support ongoing conversations, clearer handoffs, and shared screenshots or files.
  • Billing self-service is built into the app. Update billing details and payment methods without leaving Dataplicity.
  • SSO configuration is now available on paid plans. Teams can manage their organisation sign-in setup directly in Dataplicity.

Customer communication

  • Status pages have a refreshed design. Published service health is clearer and easier to scan.
  • Incident updates can be published to selected status pages. Keep customers informed from the incident workflow.

CLI session reliability improvements

  • Terminal session close behavior is more resilient. CLI sessions now handle cleanup stalls more gracefully.

Log ingest performance under load

  • Log ingest flow is more resilient during traffic spikes. Backend changes reduce contention and improve responsiveness on high-volume paths.

CLI onboarding and AI Copilot workflow improvements

  • CLI install guidance is now clearer in-product. Teams can get started faster with improved onboarding and setup guidance.
  • Homebrew install instructions were improved. Setup is more straightforward with corrected install path guidance.
  • AI Copilot guidance in terminal workflows was refined. Starter prompts and follow-up behavior are more consistent during day-to-day operations.
  • File transfer and terminal interactions are more polished. Transfer status handling and terminal UX updates reduce friction in routine device operations.
