Planning boards.
Keep the next step in sight.

Turn a list of jobs into a shared Kanban board. Move cards through your workflow, give each task an owner and keep the details with the work.

No device enrolment needed. In Dataplicity, open Projects → Boards.

Dataplicity Cold-chain Ops board with cards in Backlog, Investigating, In progress and Waiting on site columns
A Project Board in the Northstar demo fleet. Columns, owners and linked equipment keep the work in context.

A familiar way to organise the work.

Start with Todo, Doing and Done. Rename and reorder columns to match the way your team works, then drag cards forward as each job progresses.

Team projects

Break a project into practical tasks. Give each card an owner and a checklist so the next person can pick it up.

  1. Todo
  2. Doing
  3. Review
  4. Done

Site rollouts

Track what is ready, what is being installed and what still needs checking before the site is handed over.

  1. Planned
  2. Installing
  3. Verifying
  4. Done

Maintenance and follow-up

Keep investigations, parts and verification steps together. See which jobs are waiting on someone else.

  1. Backlog
  2. In progress
  3. Waiting on site
  4. Done

Everything the next person needs.

A card holds more than a title. Keep the problem, the owner and the steps to finish it in one place.

Clear ownership
Assign an owner, tag teammates and use labels to organise the work.
The working details
Add a description, checklist, supporting files and useful links. Attachments support up to 2 MB per file.
A tidy board, with history
Archive completed cards and restore them when needed. Configure automatic archival for older cards in Done columns.

Keep the work close to the equipment.

Use boards for everyday planning. When a job involves your fleet, connect the card to the records your team already uses.

Start from a device or incident

Choose Add to board from a supported device, incident or event view. The new card links back to the source, ready for the investigation or follow-up.

Explore fleet operations →

See the context

Link devices, device classes, events, incidents and monitors. Linked devices show their current online or offline state, keeping the equipment in view beside the task.

Connect tasks to the wider plan

Link cards to Initiatives and Projects. Progress on those cards contributes to the planning status of the larger piece of work.

Shared work. Deliberate access.

Use organisation-visible boards for everyday teamwork. For sensitive work, make a board private and grant access through group board access tags.

Board access does not grant access to linked devices, incidents or other records. Their own permissions still apply.

Set up a private board →

Give your next project a board.
